Emporium ads boost seasonal sales

Trudi Davies of M Davies Ltd used an advert in both The Village Emporium and The Drayton Emporium to promote a special pre-season sale weekend. She also sent a mail shot to existing customers, put up signs on the road side and advertised in the local press. As Trudi explains, “We spend a lot of money on advertising so it’s important to monitor results. That weekend the majority of customers came as a result of the letter; we would expect that as these are people who know us. However it’s important to get new customers too as there’s always a turnover. The local press advertising and the sign boards brought no one in. The rest of the customers came from our ads in the two Emporium magazines.”

M Davies offers a range of garden and leisure products as well as winter fuel and stoves. It’s a very seasonal business so Trudi changes her adverts regularly to reflect the time of year. She promotes garden furniture and BBQ’s in summer and fuel and stoves in the winter issues.
