Stonemason
carves out success with The Village Emporium
Stonemason Moira
Morriss was keen to develop the individually commissioned sculpture
side of her business so was one of the first advertisers to sign
up for issue one of The Village Emporium. It’s a
decision that has paid for itself many times over, and Moira has
advertised in every subsequent issue.
Moira, and husband Malcolm, have an enormous amount of experience
as stone carvers and bespoke lettercutters. Much of their work has
been on historic buildings and public art. But Moira wanted to develop
the bespoke side of her portfolio by working with private clients
to create individual works of art.
"The Village Emporium has certainly helped us to reach
the sort of people who appreciate individual design and have realistic
expectations of the costs involved,” says Moira. “What’s
more, the leads we get
from The Village Emporium usually turn into commissions, more so
than with other media.”
According to Moira the two-month shelf life of The Village Emporium
works well too. “I know people keep it and use it. I often
get calls several weeks after it has gone out. But advertising every
two months helps keep costs down which is important.”
